The elevator is made up of a hydraulic ram coupled to a platform which comprises the floor of the elevator. The platform moves vertically within a specially constructed lift well, and is buffered from the lift well walls by an overlay of carpet to suit the client's decor (carpet supplied by customer).
Installation of the platform starts with the construction of a specially designed lift well.
Once the lift well is completed, a hole for a heavy duty non-corrosive hydraulic ram is drilled and the ram is inserted. This hydraulic ram is powered by water pressure.
Lift operation is controlled electronically and the doors are electro-mechanically interlocked during use. These doors can be opened in an emergency and the elevator is supplied with an exterior mounted emergency alarm siren which is activated from inside the lift. Also, as an option, a telephone can be installed inside the lift.
The power supply to the lift system is 12V DC with a permanently charged battery back-up.
Should the power supply be cut the lift will still operate in the down direction only.
The elevator is easy to operate and is silent, smooth and clean.
